The Salisbury Arms, situated in Purewell on the north east approach to Christchurch has established itself as the premier live music venue in the area. Apart from the main bar which has a stage area capable of accommodating a six piece band, the Salisbury also has Logan’s Bar; an historic barn which has been converted into a function room. Logan’s is great for unplugged gigs as it has astonishing acoustic properties and unique ambiance. Many artists who have performed in Logan’s have stated that it has the best ‘acoustics’ of any venue they’ve played in!

There is also a large beer garden which becomes an outdoor venue during the summer Beer, Wine & Music Festival. The garden is probably the largest in the area and comes as a surprise to many summer visitors. There are canopies (in case of liquid sunshine!), a children’s play area and plenty of tables where you can while away the hours over a few pints. The garden also plays host to barbeques and family fundays throughout the summer months.

The Salisbury Arms hosts a number of special themed party nights throughout the year and is the only pub in the area to hold an official Jack Daniels birthday party. The Summer and New Year festivals are very special events in their own right and attract audiences from far and wide.

The weekly live music and disco nights cater for a broad range of tastes (and age groups!) with local, national and international acts ranging from acoustic Folk through to Heavy Metal.

The Salisbury Arms supports it’s live music with a vast array of in-house technology and equipment. There is stage lighting in both the main bar and Logan’s, plus lasers floods and scanners in the garden. There is a small PA in Logan’s for acoustic gigs and a comprehensive rig including foldback in the main bar. A live recording service is also available for bands that want record of their night. Please discuss this with Leon prior to the gig. For discos, there is a DJ booth with state of the art Allen and Heath desk and plenty of outboard equipment.
